Platform Users

When EMpowerAI is deployed by an authorized healthcare organization, the platform may process clinical documentation, encounter-level information, and structured diagnostic or procedural data required to provide contracted services.

4. HIPAA & Business Associate Role

When operating in covered entity environments, EMpowerAI acts as a Business Associate and processes protected health information (PHI) solely on behalf of and under the direction of the applicable healthcare organization.

The applicable healthcare organization remains the Covered Entity and determines permitted uses, disclosures, and retention requirements under governing agreements and law.

5. Data Retention

Data retention periods are defined by contractual agreement with the applicable healthcare organization and may be subject to regulatory requirements. We retain data only as necessary to provide services, satisfy legal obligations, and support authorized operational and security functions.

6. Security Safeguards

We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards including encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access controls, audit logging, and secure hosting environments aligned with healthcare industry standards.

7. No Sale or Secondary Use of Data

EMpowerAI does not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise monetize personal or healthcare data. Clinical information is used solely to provide contracted services to healthcare organizations. Customer clinical data is not used for external model training.

8. Data Subprocessors

We may engage secure infrastructure providers and technology vendors as subprocessors under written agreements requiring compliance with applicable privacy, security, and confidentiality obligations.
